DHS Region 7 / NETEC Online COVID Training Course Oct. 7th
DHS Region 7 and NETEC (University of Nebraska Medicine) will be offering a day-long Zoom course on October 7th for the four states of our region to discuss the latest updates on COVID-19, plus touch on other special pathogens as well. They will grant CEUs in two-hour blocks, thinking that folks may not be able to devote an entire day for this. Credit will be granted through Zoom log-in tracking, so the flexibility of picking what you want to hear will be a nice option. A flyer is almost finished and will be sent out when it is, but here is an overview of the agenda:
- Recognition and Treatment of COVID-19, and other special pathogens (includes current update on vaccines).
- Maintaining Staff Resilience During a Pandemic
- The Three I’s of Special Pathogen Management
- Infection Control – Cleaning and Disinfection
- PPE Considerations - Fighting PPE Fatigue
- LUNCH BREAK
- Respiratory Treatment of COVID-19 – Oxygenation, Ventilation, ECMO, etc.
- Long Term Care Considerations
- Testing and Laboratory Considerations
- EMS Transport Considerations
- Lessons Learned – Provided State by State (NE, IA, MO, KS)
- Expert Panel - Questions and Answers
- Adjourn
Again, CEUs will be granted through UNMC in two hour blocks when you attend on that day, so you can pick and choose what you listen to if you cannot devote an entire day to this.
The course will be recorded as well so folks can watch it later if needed, but CEUs will not be offered for after-the-fact viewing.
Please save at least some of the date if possible. As the designated experts in special pathogen management for the U.S., NETEC’s courses never disappoint.
