Course Overview:
The EOC course offers participants insight into, and practical experience with, emergency management and decision-making skills necessary to effectively manage an EOC and the overall response to a large-scale Type 3 or 2 and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD)/terrorismincident or all-hazard event utilizing the MACS. The EOC course is 24 hours in length, with decision-based exercises comprising 8 of the 24 hours. This course will develop and reinforce emergency management, situational awareness, information management, resource management, and decision-making skills for course participants. The course adapts existing emergency management [National Incident Management System (NIMS)/Incident Command System (ICS)] procedures to the unique requirements of EOC operations.

Scope:
The course offers the opportunity for participants to practice emergency management and to gain practical experience in individual and group processes necessary to manage an EOC. Each participant will gain a better understanding of the management requirements and skills necessary to effectively coordinate and support the response.
