DHS / CISA Active Shooter Response Tabletop Exercise Invitation

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), along with the Hospital Alliance for Preparedness in Iowa is conducting an Active Shooter Response Tabletop Exercise Sept 9, 2021 from 12:30 PM – 4:30 PM.

The Iowa Hospital Tabletop Exercise (TTX) will bring together private sector stakeholders, local first responders, the healthcare community, and state and federal partners to discuss and validate the preparedness of Iowa Hospital facilities in response to a complex coordinated incident. This TTX will be designed to clarify pre-incident and incident intelligence and information sharing procedures, as well as emergency response and recovery operations.

The exercise will cover facility areas including policies and procedures, preparation, incident command structure, communications, and department responsibilities. We are looking for hosts that will invite area partners (EMS, law enforcement, fire, EMA, et.) and other interested local participants onsite to participate interactively as the TTX scenario unfolds and injects are discussed. Due to a limited number of connections available, one registration per site/area will be allowed. Everyone participating must be gathered together to interact during the exercise.

The Exercise will be managed virtually using Microsoft Teams platform by DHS / CISA. Four  locations will be selected to be Active Players interacting with the CISA Facilitator. All other participants will be Local Players / Observers comparing exercise questions and answers by Active Players with their local partners for local discussion and improvements where identified.

Interested Participants must fill out the attached document and follow instructions for commuicating your participation.
