Why ASIST: This class is nationally (and internationally!) accredited and data-backed. Self-reported data has shown that every person who took this training had 1 successful suicide intervention within 6 months of taking the class. You will spend 2 days learning through powerful audiovisuals, discussions, and simulation. There is no other class as comprehensive and hands on offered on the topic of suicide intervention. What Will You Learn: You will learn a framework through which you will be empowered to speak with some who is having thoughts of suicide. You will get hands on practice walking through many different potential scenarios in a caring and supportive environment. You will learn how to help someone choose safety for now. You will learn about different resources within our own community. Some even report this class has made them a better friend and life partner because they learned how to listen and communicate in new ways. This class is challenging but it is VERY rewarding.
