Description: This 2-day course offers training in the fundamentals of the emergency planning process, including the rationale behind planning. It will develop the capability for effective participation in the all-hazard emergency operations planning process to save lives, protect property and the environment threatened by disaster. **This course is part of the FEMA Advanced Professional Series (APS)

Prerequisites: NONE

Audience: Emergency management personnel, Elected officials, Community leaders, First responders, business or industry personnel, and those that develop emergency operations plans.

Additional Info: 1) Parking is available on the south side of the building or across the street to the south at the Human Services building. 1a) Do not park in the center spots designated for public health patients. 1b) Entrance to the EOC is on the east side of the building.

2) This multi-day course is supported with Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) funding. You may request lodging reimbursement if you traveled an excess of 50 miles one way and an Iowa resident. Prior to start of class, email your lodging reimbursement request to HSEMDTraining@iowa.gov Lodging reimbursement is limited to the first 10 registrants who respond prior to start of class. Maximum lodging reimbursement will be State of Iowa rate of $80 + taxes = $89.60/night. TAKE NOTE: lodging restrictions beginning January 1, 2022 for those requesting reimbursement. All other travel will be on your own if the above doesn't apply or requested.
