This course provides training for those who respond to hazardous weather events while promoting partnership & coordination with NWS and emergency managers.

Target Audience: EMA, EMS, Fire, Law Enforcement, local elected officials, public/private sectors, non-profit organizations, school officials, public works

Additional Information:

1) Come in the main entrance of the college and go around the roundabout. It's a brick building on north end of campus we sit behind the tennis courts. 2) Please park in the parking lot to the west of are building and use the southwest entrance of the building. 3) Meals are on your own as well as lodging if below statement doesn't apply to you. 4) This multi-day course is supported with Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) funding. You may request lodging reimbursement if you traveled an excess of 50 miles one way and an Iowa resident. Prior to start of class, email your lodging reimbursement request to HSEMDTraining@iowa.gov Lodging reimbursement is limited to the first 10 registrants who respond prior to start of class. Maximum lodging reimbursement will be State of Iowa rate of $80 + taxes = $89.60/night. TAKE NOTE: lodging restrictions beginning January 1, 2022 for those requesting reimbursement. Please follow the current CDC guidelines, and if you feel ill, have a temperature, or have a sore throat, stay home.
