Attached is the registration flier for the next Heartland EMS for Children
pediatric virtual symposium, "Peds & Poisons." This FREE continuing
education is Thursday, Aug. 12, 7-9 p.m. CST, and features
popular speaker Kirk Hughes, from the Minnesota Poison Control System. His focus
includes poisons of all kinds and their treatment, as well as newer issues in
marijuana poisoning, and the dangers of "gummies," both medicinal and illegal,
around kids.

These virtual symposiums are a creation of the EMSC managers
from six midwestern states, and they offer two hours of EMS CEHs, as well as
nursing, physician and social work continuing education hours, all at no cost.
They fill quickly--to register, click "register here" on the attached flyer and
fill out the form to receive a Zoom invitation. Signup, if it includes the
participant's certification number, will automatically register the viewer for
the appropriate continuing education credit. EMS providers are allowed
to watch in group settings--if a group chooses to watch together, please email
Vicki Petersen AFTER the training a list of the name, certification number and
EMS service of each attendee, so all can receive a certificate. Please note that
nurses, physicians and social workers MUST register and watch individually to
receive credit within their certifications.
Participants must watch for
the full two hours to receive credit.
